Riyadh (UNA/SPA) – Minister of Media, Mr. Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari, attended the closing ceremony of the fifth Saudi Media Forum, held under the slogan “Media in a World in Shape,” and the accompanying Future of Media Exhibition “FOMEX,” on Wednesday evening, and the announcement of the winners of the forum’s award tracks, in the presence of a number of dignitaries and media professionals from inside and outside the Kingdom.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Saudi Media Forum, Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi, expressed his thanks and appreciation to all supporters, partners and participants, saying: “How beautiful is gratitude, which is the theme of our event tonight, and how delightful are moments of appreciation; it is the moment in which we affirm the essence of our reality and the authenticity of our humanity. Whenever peoples meet and awareness increases, their interest in their symbols and honoring and honoring their creators increases. Gratitude is not an ordinary word, but rather a word that reflects the culture of ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor].’ Gratitude is the essence of the noble.”
He explained that the forum witnessed the participation of about 300 speakers from different countries around the world, and a wide attendance that contributed to enriching the discussions and turning the event into an exceptional media carnival, stressing the forum’s endeavor to move from a seasonal event to a sustainable institutional work through quality initiatives, most notably the “Media Innovation Center”, the “Growth” initiative to support media entrepreneurs, the “Media Ambassadors” initiative to discover and empower the talents of university students, in addition to the “Light” initiative that transfers the forum’s experience to different regions of the Kingdom.
The head of the forum pointed out that the Future of Media exhibition achieved broad global participation, with more than 250 companies participating and showcasing the latest content creation technologies, stressing that the media today is a partner in development, awareness-making and a driver of change, under the support of the wise leadership and the follow-up of His Excellency the Minister of Information.
Al-Harthi appreciated the efforts of the strategic partners, sponsors, the working team and attendees, and expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed, participated and attended the forum.
Following that, it was announced that the Saudi Media Forum had set a world record, after the number of its visitors reached 65.603, culminating in obtaining a certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records, in an achievement that reflects the growing status of the forum on the map of international media events.
During the closing ceremony, the winners of the Forum’s fifth edition award were announced, with its various tracks, which come as part of the Forum’s commitment to supporting and stimulating media creativity. Khaled Al-Badr won the award for the journalistic report track, Abdulhadi Habtour won the award for the journalistic dialogue track, and Lama Al-Sahli won the award for the academic research track.
In the audiovisual media category, the winner of the AI-generated media content award was announced, while the “Rachid Show” program from the Kingdom of Morocco won the award for the social talk show track, and the Ministry of Culture won the award for the podcast and radio talk show track for the “Podcasts 1949” program.
The Tourism Development Fund won the award for best media work on National Day for its work “What have you heard about Saudi Arabia?” and in the category of best work on Founding Day, the Ministry of Defense won for the film “Al-Awja”.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, won the Global Competitor Award, while Dr. Mohammed Al-Rumaihi won the Press Column Award.
In the category of best media work for Science Day, the Vision 2030 account won the award.
Following that, the Media Personality of the Year award was announced, which was given to the esteemed media figure Dr. Hussein Najjar, in recognition of his media career.
At the end of the ceremony, commemorative photos were taken of the winners with His Excellency the Minister of Information, Mr. Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari, and then His Excellency honored the partners and sponsors.
