
Abu Dhabi (UNA/WAM) – In light of the announcement of an agreement on a memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the United Arab Emirates stressed the importance of prioritizing dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law in order to enhance security and stability in the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of full compliance with the terms of the agreement, which ensures an immediate and comprehensive cessation of hostilities in the region, respect for the sovereignty of states and the principles of good neighborliness, strict adherence to international law, and the protection of maritime routes and freedom of international navigation, including ensuring the smooth flow of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, thereby enhancing security, stability and economic prosperity at the regional and international levels.
The Ministry praised the diplomatic efforts led by His Excellency US President Donald Trump that contributed to reaching this understanding, and the contribution of the countries and parties concerned in creating the appropriate conditions to reach this agreement.
The ministry stressed the importance of continuing to move forward with negotiations, in order to build on this progress and achieve sustainable results, stressing that the UAE supports all efforts aimed at strengthening security and stability, and consolidating the approach of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional and international crises, in a way that serves the interests of the peoples of the region and enhances opportunities for development and prosperity.
