
Riyadh (UNA/SPA) – The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcome of the agreement reached between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran to end military operations and begin detailed negotiations within a period of 60 days with the aim of reaching a permanent agreement.
The Kingdom appreciated the mediation efforts undertaken by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the State of Qatar, and the response of the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran to these efforts, which led to reaching this agreement.
The Kingdom stressed the importance of restoring security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to the status it was before February 28, and expressed its aspiration to achieve peace that enhances the security of the region and the world, through reaching a permanent agreement that takes into account the security interests of the countries of the region and adheres to the principle of respecting the internal affairs of countries.
