New York (UNA/WAS) – UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed the agreement reached between the United States and Iran, which includes a permanent ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement today, the Secretary-General’s spokesperson, Stephane Dujarric, said that Guterres described the agreement as a crucial step towards peace in the Middle East, expressing his hope that the parties would take advantage of this new momentum and redouble their efforts to reach a final solution to the conflict.
