Jeddah (UNA) — His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Abdul Rabbo Al-Yami, Director General of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA), extended his warmest congratulations and blessings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister — may God protect them — and to the government and people of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the occasion of the great success achieved for the Hajj season of 1447 AH.
In a press statement today, he praised the exceptional efforts made by the Kingdom’s government to serve the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God, describing them as “a leading model in organization, management and integration of services at the global level.”
Al-Yami explained that the qualitative development witnessed in the Hajj seasons year after year embodies the great attention that the wise leadership pays to the comfort and safety of the guests of God, within the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which made serving the Two Holy Mosques and the pilgrims an absolute priority.
He said: “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides every year the highest meanings of care and attention to the guests of God, starting with facilitating arrival procedures, passing through providing modern means of transportation, suitable accommodation, advanced health services, and ending with ensuring their safety and security while performing the rituals.
The Director General of UNA added that the integrated efforts of the government agencies involved in the Hajj season, from the Ministries of Interior, Defense, Health and Transport, to the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, deserve all appreciation for the integrated system they provided that contributed to the pilgrims performing their rituals with ease and safety.
He noted the importance of the media's role in conveying this bright image, stressing that the Union, through its network of member agencies, is keen to highlight the smart technologies and solutions used by the Kingdom in crowd management and logistics, and the unprecedented facilities it has provided to all pilgrims from the Islamic world.
Al-Yami added: “The large numbers that came to perform the pilgrimage this year, which exceeded one million seven hundred thousand pilgrims from various countries around the world, would not have been able to perform their rituals with such ease and tranquility were it not for the grace of God and then these well-organized arrangements and advanced services.”
The Director General called on all media outlets in member states to highlight the humanitarian sacrifices and field efforts made by the agencies working in Hajj, which embody the meaning of Islamic solidarity and sincere service, concluding his statement with a prayer that God may bring this occasion back to the Islamic nation with blessings and prosperity, and that He may reward the Kingdom’s government and those in charge of serving the Two Holy Mosques with the best reward.
