
Jeddah (UNA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the agreement reached on the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran to end military operations and restore security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz as it was previously.
The General Secretariat of the Organization praised the role played by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the State of Qatar, along with other countries that contributed to bringing viewpoints closer and creating the conditions to reach this understanding.
The Secretariat expressed its hope that the agreement would be fully implemented, and that the parties concerned would participate seriously in the upcoming rounds of negotiations to address all issues and maintain security and stability in the region.
