Jeddah (UNA) – Director General of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) Issa Khaira Robleh received today, Monday, a delegation from Umm Al-Qura University, which included: Dr. Halil Al-Amiri, a faculty member in the Department of Media, College of Social Sciences; Dr. Wadih Al-Azazi, a faculty member in the Department of Media, College of Social Sciences; Dr. Muhammad Saeed Al-Zahrani, a faculty member in the College of Social Sciences; and Dr. Muhammad Gharib, a professor of media. The two sides discussed aspects of joint cooperation in the fields of training and qualification for workers in various media fields and news agency employees. Robleh welcomed the Umm Al-Qura University delegation, expressing his hope to activate joint cooperation in various scientific and training fields. After that, the university delegation toured the union’s departments and sections, including the editing departments: Arabic, English, French, photography and montage, and computer, where they listened to an explanation about the work in the departments from Assistant Director Zayed Abdullah. The delegation expressed their happiness to visit the headquarters of UNA and meet with its Director General and the union’s employees. Pointing out that the visit comes within the university's strategic plan, which is in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 towards serving the community through highly qualified national cadres, whose educational outputs are compatible with the requirements of the labor market. The delegation was also briefed on the work of the Yona Training Center by the center's general supervisor, Fahd bin Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, and his assistant, Ahmed Al-Zahrani, who praised the university's roles that intersect with Yona's work. The visit comes within Yona's planning to establish mutual cooperation partnerships in advisory and training aspects, and to form committees to activate cooperation and exchange experiences.
