Jeddah (UNA) – The Consul General of the State of Libya in the Saudi city of Jeddah, Ambassador Abdul Qader Al-Hamali, received today, Wednesday, in his office, the Director General of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA), Issa Khaira Robleh, where they discussed aspects of joint cooperation in the field of implementing the Union’s project as an umbrella for the news agencies of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Al-Hamali welcomed the visit of the Director General of (UNA). He expressed his hope that cooperation between the two sides would establish broad horizons for the benefit of the Libyan News Agency and the State of Libya on the one hand, and the Union and the member news agencies on the other hand. He expressed his hope that joint cooperation would take on the character of continuity and sustainability to serve the Islamic countries and each other. The Libyan Consul General affirmed his country’s welcome to cooperate with the Union in all its fields and programs to develop the capabilities of media professionals in the member agencies and train Libyan media cadres. The Director General of (UNA) appreciated the Libyan efforts to support the Union and the institutions of joint Islamic action. Stressing that the next stage will witness a strong boost to media relations between the Union and the State of Libya, especially in news exchange programs with the Libyan News Agency, training programs, and the media delegations program to convey the true image of Libya to the member Islamic states through official news agencies. The Director General of (UNA) provided an explanation of the transformations witnessed by the Union, the activities and programs it implements, and its future plans in light of the decisions of the Fifth General Assembly of the Union, and the Ten-Year Action Plan of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
