An agreement between ISESCO, the Ministry of Education and the National Center for Scientific Research in the Kingdom of Morocco

Rabat (UNA) - The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) has signed an agreement with the Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kingdom of Morocco, to cooperate in the award for the best scientific research on combating violence against women, which will include five branches, and is awarded to the best Scientific research aimed at producing new knowledge, or proposals to find solutions to this phenomenon. The agreement was signed yesterday, Monday (April 26, 2021), at the headquarters of the higher education and scientific research sector in Rabat, in the presence of Dr. Said Amzazi, Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of the National Commission for Education, Science and Culture in the Kingdom of Morocco, where it was signed by Dr. Salem on behalf of ISESCO. Ben Mohamed Al-Malik, Director General of the Organization, and on behalf of the Ministry, Dr. Idris Ouaisha, Minister Delegate in charge of Higher Education, and on behalf of the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research, Dr. Jamila Al-Alami, Director of the Center. In his speech during the signing ceremony, Dr. Amzazi confirmed that the award represents a celebration of scientific research in general, and scientific research in literature and social sciences in particular, and falls within the framework of the Kingdom of Morocco’s initiative to combat violence against women, which was launched on March 8, 2020 under the supervision of the venerable Princess Lalla. Mariam, and praised the partnership between the Ministry and ISESCO, and the organization's declaration of 2021 as the year of women. For his part, Dr. Aouisha indicated that there is no dispute that the phenomenon of violence against women has spread in our societies, and increased during the quarantine period, hence the importance of the award to contribute to confronting this phenomenon and finding scientific solutions to it. Dr. Al-Malik indicated in his speech that the teachings of the Islamic religion urge honoring women, which requires supporting them and confronting violence against them, noting that ISESCO is making every effort to grant women their rights, and the declaration of 2021 as the year of women by the organization was a step in this direction. ISESCO Director General explained that the partnership in this award opens the door to other partnerships with universities and research institutions, and the establishment of a number of ISESCO scientific chairs, and that this award will be a launch for similar awards in the countries of the Islamic world. While Dr. Jamila Al-Alami said: This award is the first of its kind at the national level, and she explained the stages it goes through from nominating research to announcing the names of the winners, as the ceremony also witnessed the awarding of awards to the winners in four branches for the year 2021. According to the agreement, the awards will be handed over annually to the winners. On the 8th of March, corresponding to the celebration of International Women's Day, and the five branches of the award include, that the scientific work nominated for winning it be: - A book published during the past five years. A dissertation published within the past five years. A chapter from a book published within the past five years. An article published in a scientific journal, during the past five years. A scientific paper presented at a scientific event during the past two years. This scientific work can be written in Arabic, French or English, and the cash reward for the best book award is 30 thousand dirhams, the prize for the best thesis is 25 thousand dirhams, the prize for the best chapter of a book is 15 thousand dirhams, the prize for the best scientific article is 15 thousand dirhams, and the award for the best scientific article is 10 thousand dirhams. The best scientific intervention is XNUMX thousand dirhams, and based on the recommendations of experts, the award can be awarded to more than one winner in a specific category. (I finish)
