The Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemns the attack on UNRWA in occupied Jerusalem

grandmother (UNA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation strongly condemned the barbaric attack carried out by extremist Israeli settler groups against the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in occupied Jerusalem.

It considered this to be an extension of organized terrorism and continuing Israeli crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces and extremist settlers in the occupied Palestinian territory.

The organization considered that this serious attack comes in the context of the Israeli occupation’s attempts to undermine the role of UNRWA, distort it, dry up its funding sources, destroy more than 160 of its facilities, and kill about 188 of its employees since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, in clear violation of international humanitarian law and resolutions. The organization held Israel, the occupying power, fully responsible for the continuation of these crimes committed against the Palestinian people and United Nations agencies, as well as workers in humanitarian and relief organizations.

It also called on the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibilities towards stopping these crimes and repeated violations and the necessity of providing international protection for the Palestinian people.
