The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation witnesses the signing ceremony of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau on nine agreements of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its institutions in Banjul

Banjul (UNA) - The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, testified on the sidelines of the fifteenth session of the Islamic Summit Conference in Banjul, the Republic of the Gambia, today, Saturday, May 4, 2024, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Carlos Pinto Pereira, The signing ceremony of 9 agreements and treaties of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its institutions.

These agreements and treaties were represented in the statute of the Organization for the Development of Women in the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The Statute of the OIC Action Centre; The Statute of the International Islamic Court of Justice; The agreement establishing the Islamic Committee for the International Crescent; The Agreement on Immunities and Privileges of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation; The Organization of Islamic Cooperation Convention against International Terrorism; The era of children’s rights in Islam; The Statute of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Center for Police Coordination and Cooperation; And the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Agreement for member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the field of enforcing anti-corruption laws.

On this occasion, the Secretary-General expressed his deep thanks to the Republic of Guinea-Bissau and to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for signing these agreements, which confirms Guinea-Bissau’s keenness to have an effective membership in these institutions. He also urged all member states to complete the signing of the agreements and treaties of the organization and its institutions.
