Al-Othaimeen: The Women's Development Organization's practice of its work is a quantum leap that meets the aspirations of women

Jeddah (UNA-UNA) - The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, affirmed in a speech delivered on his behalf by Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakhit, the Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs of the Organization, that the General Secretariat is looking forward to the Women’s Development Organization’s directing of its work a quantum leap It meets the aspirations of women of different situations and backgrounds in the Member States, which leads to a positive approach and more effective efforts in addressing and resolving women's issues, interests and aspirations. This came in the extraordinary meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for the Development of Women, one of the specialized organs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held virtually, today, Wednesday, March 24, 2021. The Secretary-General said in his speech: The agenda of the meeting is of great importance in order to start the work and operation of the Women’s Organization who rely on Role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to contribute to empowering women and strengthening their role in the development process in Member States. Al-Othaimeen expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt for their invitation to hold this meeting, and for the efforts and arrangements that were made to prepare for it and make it a success, along with the government of Burkina Faso for its efforts in following up the implementation of the decisions issued by the Seventh Ministerial Conference on the role of women in development. In turn, Dr. Maya Morsi, Chair of the current session of the Ministerial Council of the Women's Development Organization and Chair of the National Council for Women in the Arab Republic of Egypt, called on member states to provide support to the Women's Development Organization to ensure the continuation of its work, expressing her hope for the meeting to succeed and complete the documents required to complete the work of the organization.
