Jeddah (UNA) - Saudi Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Foreign Trade Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi headed a government delegation to the Kingdom of Morocco with the participation of government officials from 12 government agencies and private sector representatives from more than 60 Saudi companies on an official four-day visit. Al-Qasabi will meet today with Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade Eng. Riyad Mezzour to discuss ways to enhance trade and investment relations and enable the private sector in both countries to invest in promising opportunities to increase the volume of trade exchange and develop investments. During the visit, Al-Qasabi will participate in the Saudi-Moroccan Economic Forum, which will be held tomorrow with the participation of a group of businessmen representing major companies in the two brotherly countries. The visit will also witness the signing of two memoranda of cooperation between the two countries in the field of mutual recognition of halal certificates for local products, and a draft technical cooperation program between the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization and the Moroccan Institute for Standardization. During the visit, the Minister of Commerce will inaugurate the new headquarters of the Commercial Attaché in Casablanca, with the aim of developing relations, overcoming difficulties facing the private sector, enabling Saudi exports to access markets, and attracting qualitative investments that contribute to enhancing trade exchange between the two countries.
