Washington (UNA/WAS) – UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his concern over the renewed military confrontations in the Gulf region, warning that the escalation could undermine the diplomatic process.
He called on all parties to exercise restraint, reduce tensions, and abide by international law, including the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, and respect for freedom of navigation.
The Secretary-General urged the United States and Iran to urgently resume negotiations and address outstanding issues through diplomatic channels.
