The Union of Islamic Cooperation News Agencies condemns the Israeli occupation’s targeting of journalists

grandmother (UNA) - The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries condemned (UNAThe Israeli occupation forces continue to target journalists, as part of their comprehensive aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.

The Union stressed in a statement that Israel's targeting of journalists constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian law, which stipulates that civilian journalists who perform their duties in armed conflicts must be respected and protected from every form of deliberate attack.

The Union called on the international community to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its ongoing crimes against journalists and ensure that it does not escape punishment.

The Union also stressed the need to provide protection for all press crews working in the occupied Palestinian territories to enable them to carry out their professional duties.

Since the start of the Israeli occupation's aggression against the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate said that 10 Palestinian journalists were martyred and others were injured.
