The director of RT Arabic warns of the dangers of unifying the information space

Kazan (UNA) - RT Arabic channel head Maya Manna warned of the dangers that could lead to the unification of the information space, pointing out that this could lead to the exclusion of some points of view from this space.

This came during her participation, on Wednesday, in the media forum “Main trends in the transformation of the information field in the modern world and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation,” which is organized in Kazan, Tatarstan, by the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries (UNA), in cooperation with the “Tatmedia” agency in Tatarstan, and in partnership with the “Russia-Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group, and the Permanent Mission of Russia to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

She pointed out that the world is now witnessing a multiplicity of poles with regard to the information space, with the presence of different intellectual centers around which like-minded people gather, pointing out that Russia, for example, is a center that supports traditional values.

Manna stressed that the diversity of opinions will allow everyone to make their own decisions, calling on journalists to provide the public with a mosaic of information from which it can draw its own conclusions.

Manna confirmed that the RT network was able to build a large audience for itself in the Arab world, thanks to the network’s Arabic channel, stressing RT’s keenness to share its expertise with foreign media.

It is noteworthy that the forum witnessed wide participation from media experts in the Islamic world and the Russian Federation, to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two sides and supporting pluralism and diversity in the international media space.
