The Union of Islamic Cooperation News Agencies signs a memorandum of cooperation with the Russian “Interfax” agency

Kazan (UNA) - The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries signed (UNA), Wednesday (May 15, 2024), a memorandum of cooperation with the Russian Interfax agency, on the sidelines of the Kazan Forum 2024 held in the city of Kazan, Tatarstan, in the Russian Federation.

The Federation was represented at the signing ceremony by Director General Mohammed bin Abd Rabbuh Al-Yami, while Interfax was represented by Director-General Operemuk Andrei Alexandrovich.

The memorandum aims to expand partnership and cooperation relations between the two sides, including the exchange of news content, coverage of important events related to relations between Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as international news in English, Arabic and French.

The memorandum also aims to establish cooperation between the Federation and Interfax in establishing joint media projects and exchanging experiences between the two sides, in addition to cooperation in the technical field.

The Director General of the Federation, Muhammad bin Abed Rabbo Al-Yami, affirmed that the memorandum comes within the framework of strengthening the Union’s partnerships with international media institutions to address common media issues, and intensifying the media presence of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its various institutions in the international media, in a way that contributes to highlighting its various activities and initiatives.

It is noteworthy that the Union has previously signed memorandums of cooperation with a number of media institutions in Russia, including Sputnik Agency, Fiore Agency, Tatmedia Agency, and RT Arabic Network.
