A Malaysian media delegation visits the Federation of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

Jeddah (UNA) – A Malaysian media delegation visited today, Saturday, the headquarters of the Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA), where they discussed aspects of joint cooperation in the areas of news exchange and professional training for journalists. The delegation included the editor-in-chief of the official Malaysian news agency (Bernama), Mukhtar bin Hussain, the CEO of the News Strait Times Group, Abdul Jalil Hamid, and the editor-in-chief of the Malaysian newspaper Otosan, Othman bin Muhammad. The delegation was accompanied by the director of the Islamic Communication Center at the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information, Fahim. Al-Hamid, and the delegation was received by Acting General Manager of UNA, Zayed Abdullah. The Acting Director General welcomed the delegation, which toured the Arab, English and French departments of the Union. He also inspected the Union's training center and was briefed on the capabilities of the center to provide specialized training courses for employees of news agencies, newspapers and the media. The two sides held a business meeting in the presence of a number of UNA employees, during which they discussed aspects of cooperation in the areas of news exchange and organizing workshops and training courses.
