The Women Development Organization (WDO) is a specialized intergovernmental organization and one of the arms of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in promoting gender equality. It was established in 2005, its statute was adopted in 2010, and its activities officially began after the opening of its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt in 2021. The organization focuses on empowering women and girls in the political, social, educational, and cultural fields. It currently has 19 member states and seeks to expand its membership among the OIC countries.

Dr. Afnan bint Abdullah Al-Shuaibi

Dr. Afnan Al-Shuaibi is the founder and CEO of FNN International, with over 20 years of experience in financial and administrative leadership. She has held prominent positions, including Secretary General of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce (the first Saudi woman to hold the position), and Advisor to the Saudi Ministries of Commerce and Culture. She holds advanced academic degrees from international universities such as George Washington and Harvard, in addition to a private pilot license. She has received prestigious awards and has been ranked among the most powerful businesswomen in Saudi Arabia. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue and the Advisory Board at King Khalid University.
