Three technological projects won in ISESCO Youth Training Program in Kazakhstan

Nur-Sultan (UNA) – The Science and Technology Sector of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) participated in the jury meeting to evaluate and select three winners out of 13 teams participating in the ICESCO Youth Training Programme on How to Establish and Develop Small Projects in Technology and Innovation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, implemented by ICESCO in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the New Space for Innovation Foundation and the MOST Business Incubator. During the meeting, which was held on Monday (November 8, 2021) via videoconferencing, all participating teams presented their projects to a committee composed of Dr. Mohamed Sharif, Advisor at the Science and Technology Sector at ICESCO, in addition to a number of experts and specialists in the field of entrepreneurship and financing start-ups. At the end of the meeting, the winners at the national level in the Republic of Kazakhstan were announced, with the Barkur team winning first place, which presented a project for a parking network management system. The KazTraker team won second place, with a project for a digital system for forecasting and analyzing the health status of livestock and horses, using Internet of Things and artificial intelligence technology. The Bazon team won third place for its project on innovative shopping. It is worth noting that this program will be extended to 10 countries in the Islamic world, and two teams will be selected from each country to present their projects during the ICESCO International Forum in 2022 before a number of donors and investors, in order to obtain funding for these projects.
