Profits of Islamic banks in Türkiye rise 80 percent in 2017

Istanbul (UNA) – The net profits of Islamic banks operating in Turkey increased by 80 percent during the past year 2017, compared to the previous year. Turkish Islamic banks achieved net profits of about 1.6 billion Turkish liras (419 million US dollars) in 2017, up from 888.7 million liras (232.6 million dollars) in the previous year. This came, according to the newly issued financial statements of Islamic banks in Turkey, for the past fiscal year. According to Anadolu Agency, five Islamic banks own the Islamic finance sector in Turkey, namely Kuveyt Turk, Al Baraka, Turkey Finance, and the two government banks. (End) h p
