OPEC warns of a continuing surplus in oil production

Vienna (INA) – The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) warned today, Wednesday (April 13, 2016), of a continuing surplus in oil production, days before an important meeting in Doha on Sunday between member states of the organization and from abroad to discuss ways to freeze production to improve prices. And the organization announced in its report for the month of April that oil prices rose by more than 20 percent in March, thus continuing a slow recovery after the collapse of prices between 2014 and 2015. And she added that the positive sentiment in the markets has been increasing since the most important crude oil exporting countries began considering a plan to freeze production, in addition to a decline in production in the United States and other countries. However, OPEC warned that overproduction continues and inventories are still high, according to what was reported by the French Press Agency. (End) h u / za
