King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language launches the fourth edition of the (Children’s Recitation Challenge) in partnership with the Ministry of Education

Riyadh (UNA) – The King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language – in partnership with the Ministry of Education – announced the start of receiving entries for the (Children’s Recitation Challenge 4), directed at Arabic-speaking children from all over the world, aged between (5) and (12) years, with a total prize pool of more than a quarter of a million Saudi Riyals. One million Saudi riyals, in addition to increasing the number of winners in the fourth edition to sixty winners, in an encouraging step different from the previous three editions, which were limited to thirty winners.

The Secretary-General of the Academy, Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, pointed out that the Academy is honored by the continuous support it receives from His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud - may God protect him - Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, for all the Academy’s programs and activities, as the Academy works on many paths to spread the Arabic language locally and globally, and encourage its use, targeting all age groups.In line with the objectives of the Human Capacity Development Program (one of the programs to achieve Saudi Vision 2030).

وThe Secretary-General of the Academy appreciated the partnership of the Ministry of Education and its contribution to publishing this version of the competition, and distributing it to education offices in the regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its role in promoting the Arabic language among the youth, by motivating its students to participate in the competition, and providing them with the opportunity to showcase their linguistic and performance talents.

The Academy aims, by holding this challenge, to enhance the presence of the Arabic language on interactive platforms, help children expand their vocabulary, improve their ability to express themselves, draw attention to lovers of the Arabic language and its arts, encourage their talents, provide an opportunity for talented children to demonstrate their linguistic and performance skills, highlight the beauty of the Arabic language in the speech of its children, enable the general Arab public to view linguistic creativity no less than creativity in other fields, and achieve high rates of international attendance for children’s competitions that enhance the Arabic language in their souls.

The complex explained that the idea of ​​the competition is for the participating children to compete in reciting classical Arabic poetry texts, by filming a video clip of no more than five minutes, which is published on the platform. (X) Previously known as (Twitter), photographed in high quality, avoiding the use of backgrounds or sound effects, and supported by the hashtags: #Children_Challenge_Competition4 and #King_Salman_International_Academy_for_the_Arabic_Language, and the required personal information is written, which is: (full name, age, nationality, and country of residence), while ensuring that the passport of the winners and their companions from abroad is valid for a period of no less than (6) months before expiration.

The Academy explained that the judging committee includes an elite group of Arabic language specialists, including writers, poets and media professionals from inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The committee has set criteria for evaluating the entries, including: the child’s ability to recite the poem in a skillful and effective manner, his ability to express feelings and ideas in a beautiful way appropriate to the poetic text, his ability to communicate with the audience, convey the message of the poetic text clearly and skillfully, control the voice, body language and facial expressions, his ability to highlight meanings and ideas in a good and attractive manner, his ability to innovate and add his own touches to the poetic text, and his unique and distinctive presentation..

It is noteworthy that the previous edition of the (Children’s Recitation Challenge 3) competition witnessed a qualitative interaction, with the participation of more than (6000) participating children, from (32) countries around the world.
