The German Consulate in Jeddah revives memories of the first animated film in Germany with a cinematic evening.

Jeddah (UNA) – The Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany organized a film screening at its headquarters in Jeddah on Sunday, April 12, 2026, featuring the film “The Adventures of Prince Ahmed”, which is considered the first feature-length animated film in Germany, produced in 1926.

The evening was attended by a number of ambassadors, consuls, general delegates, media representatives, members of the German community in Jeddah, as well as people interested in the film industry.

The presentation included speeches that addressed the background of the film and its artistic themes, and what it reflects in terms of the presence of Arab civilization, culture and personality in a way that differs from the negative patterns prevalent in some international cinematic works, in addition to an accompanying musical performance.

The event aimed to promote cultural exchange and provide a unique artistic experience that reflects the growing interest in the film industry and its role in building sustainable artistic and cultural bridges.
