Al-Tayeb confirms Al-Azhar's readiness to support the Singaporean people in various fields

Cairo (INA) – Sheikh Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, affirmed Al-Azhar's readiness to support the Singaporean people in various educational, advocacy and cultural aspects, and to train Singaporean imams in a program dedicated to introducing them to current issues and events, how to deal with them, and to confront extremist ideology. Al-Tayeb confirmed, during his meeting today, Monday, Ambassador Muhammad Abu al-Khair, the new Egyptian ambassador to Singapore, that the students of Al-Azhar and its graduates from the sons of Muslims in Singapore and the world are ambassadors for Al-Azhar in their countries, which makes him keen to follow up the affairs of these students during their studies at Al-Azhar directly. For his part, and according to the Egyptian Middle East News Agency, Ambassador Muhammad Abu al-Khair expressed his appreciation for the honorable role of Al-Azhar in spreading moderate Islam, and for the efforts of its Sheikh, the Grand Imam, in establishing world peace, stressing his keenness on permanent and continuous cooperation and coordination with the ancient Al-Azhar Foundation as the beacon of moderate thought in the world.
