He added, "We extend our sincere thanks to the Council of Foreign Ministers for their valuable appreciation. We also thank the host country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for its continued support to the Union, as well as the State of Qatar for its commitment to paying its contributions. We at UNA are proud of the Council of Foreign Ministers' invitation to member states to actively participate in the Union's activities, benefit from its services, and commit to paying their contributions, which constitutes a fundamental pillar for ensuring the sustainability of the Union's work."
He stressed that the directives of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Union regarding enhancing the media presence of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, establishing a joint database, and developing the platforms of member news agencies, will serve as an inspiring roadmap that the Union will work to implement in close coordination with the Council of Foreign Ministers. He announced the pledge to move forward in strengthening cooperation with international institutions to combat “Islamophobia” and highlight the role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, stressing that “UNA” will remain a unified media platform that devotes all its capabilities to serving the goals of the Islamic nation and contributes to conveying its just voice to the world.
The Director General of UNA emphasized that the positive evaluation by the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Union’s achievements will contribute to advancing the Union, especially since the evaluation included praise for the Jeddah International Forum (November 2023) and its outcomes represented by the “Jeddah Charter for Media Responsibility,” which is a roadmap for ethical media that upholds the values of justice and combats hate speech, and the Media Forum on Palestinian Rights (June 2024) and the practical initiatives it produced to support the Palestinian cause in the media. It also praised the pioneering training programs in the field of artificial intelligence and media, which aim to empower our media cadres, as well as the launch of the multilingual digital media platform and the opening of the UNA office in Ramallah, as strategic projects that enhance the Islamic media narrative.
