A campaign to vaccinate more than 430 children against measles and polio in Djibouti

Djibouti (INA) - A two-week campaign to vaccinate more than 430 children against measles and polio has officially started in Djibouti, Saturday. According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, the campaign targets children from the age of one day to the age of 15, pointing to the mobilization of all the ministry's employees for the success of this campaign. According to the statement, the ministry allocated more than 410 doses for measles and more than 142 doses for polio. The Minister of Health, Dr. Qassem Ishaq Othman, urged parents to vaccinate their children against measles and polio, stressing that they pose a threat to the lives of children, adding that his ministerial department will launch the second phase of the campaign in September next month. It is worth noting that vaccination saves the lives of three million people annually around the world, according to the statistics of the World Health Organization, which considered that there is a gap that still exists, as one in five children misses the opportunity to receive life-saving vaccinations.
