Gaza (UNA/WAFA) - Today, Saturday, the Israeli occupation forces were forced to evacuate new areas in the city of Rafah.
The occupation army, through leaflets dropped from aircraft, called on residents and displaced people to evacuate the Rafah area, the Rafah and Shaboura camps, and the “Administrative, Al-Jeneina, and Khirbet Al-Adas” neighborhoods in Blocks 6, 7, 8, 9, 17, 25, 26, 27 and 31. Under the pretext that they are dangerous combat zones.
On the sixth of this month of April, the occupation forced Palestinian citizens to evacuate the eastern areas of the city of Rafah, and migrate to Khan Yunis and Al-Mawasi, despite the widespread destruction in them, due to the bombing and the difficulty of setting up tents there.
It is noteworthy that the population density east of Rafah is concentrated in the neighborhoods of Al-Salam, Geneina, and the town of Al-Shawka. These areas include small camps for the displaced, shelter centers, in addition to their original residents.
Last April, the Central Bureau of Statistics announced that the number of citizens residing in Rafah Governorate as of April 22 was estimated at approximately 1.1 million citizens, living in an area of 63.1 km2, which constitutes a humanitarian and environmental catastrophe and tremendous pressure on scarce services. The ability to obtain the simplest means of life in light of aggression.
