A blind man regains his sight with stem cells in Lebanon

Beirut (INA) – It was announced in Lebanon, today, Thursday, that a rare surgery was performed, which is the first in the world, in which surgeons were able to restore the sight of a man who had lost and become blind for thirty years, by the method of stem cell transplantation. The head of the Lebanese team of surgeons, Professor Elias Jarada, succeeded in restoring the sight of a blind man at the age of fifty-seven, through a transplant of healthy stem cells and cornea from the other damaged eye, marking a new medical achievement for his country.
