A new medical evacuation via the Rafah crossing included 97 people.

Gaza (UNA/WAFA) – The Palestinian Red Crescent Society’s teams participated today, Sunday, in a new medical evacuation operation towards the Rafah land crossing, which included 97 people, including 34 patients and 63 companions, as part of its ongoing efforts to facilitate the exit of patients to receive treatment outside the Gaza Strip.

The assembly process began from the Al-Mawasi Field Hospital of the association in Khan Yunis Governorate, where the medical and ambulance teams took on the tasks of organizing and supervising the assembly process, accompanying the patients, and providing them with primary care, to ensure their safe and organized transfer to the crossing point.

The operation was carried out under arrangements and coordination led by the World Health Organization, while the Palestinian Red Crescent teams participated in the field and humanitarian aspects, through preparation, medical follow-up and providing ambulance support to patients during the assembly and transfer process.

The association confirmed that its teams continue to perform their humanitarian tasks around the clock despite the difficult field conditions and the great pressure on the health system, in light of the increasing number of patients in need of evacuation and treatment outside the Gaza Strip.
