Red Crescent: Violent bombing and gunfire targeted Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis

Gaza (UNI/WAFA) - The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said on Tuesday that the Society’s Al-Amal Hospital in the city of Khan Yunis was subjected to violent bombardment and continuous gunfire, which led to shrapnel flying into the hospital.

Yesterday, the association announced the evacuation of about 8 displaced people from Al Amal Hospital and the association’s headquarters in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, after the Israeli occupation forces besieged them for two weeks.

She indicated that only 40 displaced elderly people remained in Al Amal Hospital, in addition to about 80 sick and wounded people, and XNUMX administrative and medical staff.

Hundreds of those who were discharged from Al-Amal Hospital and the Red Crescent headquarters were displaced to the city of Rafah in the far south of the Gaza Strip.

Yesterday, the occupation summoned a member of the association’s executive office, the general director of Al-Amal Hospital, Dr. Haider Al-Qudra, and the hospital’s administrative director, Maher Atallah, and took them to an unknown destination..

The association pointed out that the arrest came after the International Committee of the Red Cross informed the association of the occupation’s agreement to provide a safe passage to allow the exit of the displaced from Al-Amal Hospital and the association’s headquarters towards the Mawasi Khan Yunis area..

The Red Crescent announced last Friday that the occupation had killed 43 people, including 3 of the association’s employees, since the start of the siege of its headquarters in Khan Yunis..
