Ramallah (UNA) – Palestinian Minister of Health, Jawad Awwad, discussed on Sunday morning with Secretary-General of the Jordanian Medical Council, Nidal Younis, enhancing joint cooperation and benefiting from the Jordanian experience in the fields of training programs, continuing education, and specialty and internship exams for doctors. This came during a meeting held at the office of the Minister of Health in Ramallah, in the presence of Secretary-General of the Palestinian Medical Council, Amin Thalji, and a number of members of the councils in the two sister countries. Awwad welcomed the Chairman and members of the Jordanian Medical Council, praising the strong fraternal relations between the two sides. He referred to the Jordanian medical experience and said: The Jordanian experience in the fields of infrastructure, service provision, and qualification of doctors is a distinguished pioneer at the regional and regional level. He stressed the importance of enhancing joint cooperation with the Jordanian Medical Council, with regard to training programs, continuing education, holding internship exams, and the Palestinian Board. For his part, Younis confirmed that the Palestinian health sector is doing very well and said: I was surprised by the extent of development and progress in the Palestinian health sector, both governmental and private, which is supervised by the Ministry of Health in the sisterly State of Palestine. The Secretary-General of the Jordanian Medical Council continued: This development indicates the great effort exerted by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, and we strive to work together and enhance cooperation in order to provide the Palestinian and Jordanian health sectors with qualified doctors, and supervise training and continuing education programs in various medical specialties. Regarding his meetings with the Minister of Health and the Palestinian Medical Council, Younis said: We discussed aspects of joint cooperation, in order to ensure the presence of doctors who practice the profession with the highest levels of professionalism, quality, and safety. He added: I express my great admiration for the extent of the achievements made in the sisterly State of Palestine, and we will work together for a health system that is worthy of the sons of the two brotherly peoples in Palestine and Jordan.
