Jeddah (INA) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) said that it is closely following the current developments in the Gulf region, represented by the severing of diplomatic relations by a number of OIC member states with the State of Qatar, based on information and evidence proving the launch of hostile acts against it from Qatar. In a statement, the General Secretariat called on the State of Qatar to abide by its previous commitments and agreements it signed under the umbrella of the Gulf Cooperation Council, especially those related to stopping support for terrorist groups and their activities and media incitement. The General Secretariat stressed the importance of the commitment of all member states, including the State of Qatar, to the principles of the organization's charter, which call for adherence to the policy of good neighborliness, respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of member states, and non-interference in their internal affairs.
