The Special Envoy of the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Afghanistan holds talks with the Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates

Jeddah (UNA) – Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakhit, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs, and Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Afghanistan, held a consultative meeting via video conference on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, with Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State of the United Arab Emirates, with the participation of Sheikh Nahyan bin Saif Al Nahyan, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the OIC. Discussions during this meeting focused on the latest developments in Afghanistan, and the OIC’s efforts to follow up on the implementation of the resolution issued by the Extraordinary Ministerial Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Member States held in Islamabad in December 2021 regarding the situation in Afghanistan. The Special Envoy praised the continuous humanitarian and development support provided by the United Arab Emirates for decades to benefit the Afghan people.
