Jeddah (UNA) – The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, today, Tuesday, made a phone call to the President of the Republic of Guyana, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, where the Secretary-General congratulated Dr. Irfaan on his election as President of Guyana and assuming his official duties. The Secretary-General expressed the keenness of the Organization and its institutions to strengthen their relations with the Republic of Guyana in various fields and support its development efforts. For his part, the President of Guyana thanked the Secretary-General for the congratulations and the attention he personally and the OIC give to the Republic of Guyana and its role within the organization. He expressed his aspiration for more support from the organization, its institutions and member states to enable his country to implement its development programs and projects.
