The Nigerian Ambassador presents his credentials to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

Jeddah (UNA) – The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, received today, Monday, in his office at the General Secretariat in Jeddah, Ambassador Issa Mohammed Dodo, the new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the OIC. During the meeting, the envoy presented his credentials and expressed his country’s appreciation for the efforts of the Secretary-General in leading the organization. He reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to the ideals of the organization and his determination to strengthen relations with the organization. He also requested the support of the Secretary-General to ensure the success of his mission. For his part, Al-Othaimeen congratulated the new ambassador on his appointment and praised the organization’s ties with Nigeria, which he described as a very important member state with a pioneering role in the areas of security and peace in the region. He also expressed his solidarity with Nigeria and the OIC’s determination to help it overcome its current challenges, especially the fight against terrorism. (End) S J/ H S
