Jeddah (UNA) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a mosque in the city of Mubi, northeastern Nigeria, killing fifty people and wounding dozens. The Secretary-General of the organization, Dr. Youssef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, expressed his strong condemnation and shock at this criminal act that targeted innocent worshipers in one of the houses of God. Stressing the need for concerted local, regional and international efforts to eradicate the phenomenon of terrorism and extremism and eliminate all its forms as a threat to international peace and security. Emphasizing the organization's principled position, which strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The Secretary-General offered his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the government and people of the Republic of Nigeria. Wishing the wounded a speedy recovery, and affirming the organization's solidarity with Nigeria in its war against terrorism, which aims to destabilize security and stability in it and the entire region.
