​ Madani participates in the Third Global Forum for Intercultural Dialogue in Baku

Jeddah (INA) – The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Iyad Amin Madani, is heading the organization’s delegation to the Third Global Forum for Dialogue between Cultures, which begins in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, tomorrow, Monday, and lasts for two days. The Secretary General is scheduled to deliver a speech at the opening ceremony, in which he affirms the OIC's commitment to intercultural dialogue as a means to achieve peaceful coexistence and mutual respect for differences. In his speech, the Secretary-General also addresses the main theme of the Forum on culture and sustainable development in the post-2015 development agenda, with regard to the role that culture can play in a global framework for development. It should be noted that the Forum is an initiative of Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and is being held in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the UN Alliance of Civilizations, and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).
