Kuwait (UNA/KUNA) – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the heinous Iranian attack that targeted one of the tankers belonging to the UAE’s ADNOC company while it was crossing the Strait of Hormuz, in flagrant violation of international law and Security Council Resolution No. 2817, and constitutes a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the ministry stressed the need for an immediate halt to all escalatory actions and adherence to the rules of international law that guarantee freedom of navigation, affirming the State of Kuwait’s rejection of any attack on the security and safety of maritime navigation.
The Ministry also affirmed the State of Kuwait’s full support for the sisterly United Arab Emirates and its backing for all measures taken by the UAE to preserve its sovereignty and protect its security and interests.
