Doha (UNA/QNA) – The State of Qatar welcomed the statement issued by the members of the Security Council on August 7, which included condemnation of the missile attacks launched by the Houthi group against the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since July 13, and the attacks against commercial ships since July 22.
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Qatar’s full appreciation for the statement’s emphasis on the need to adhere to international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216, and its rejection of actions that threaten regional security and the rights and freedoms of maritime navigation.
The Ministry reiterated the State of Qatar’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to preserve its sovereignty and security. It also affirmed that Saudi Arabia’s security is an integral part of Qatar’s security and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
