Yona condemns Israeli attacks in Hebron and calls for a halt to plans to displace Palestinians.

Jeddah (UNA) – The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (UNA) condemned the Israeli attacks in the city of Hebron and the plans to displace about 1500 Palestinian citizens from their homes.

The Union stressed that these plans, and what they aim to do in terms of changing the demographic and geographic character of the city of Hebron and its surroundings, represent a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, calling on the international community and the Security Council to take urgent action to stop them and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.

The Union also condemned the continued Israeli violations against holy sites in the city, including the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque and preventing worshippers from accessing it, stressing that this affects freedom of worship and the sanctity of holy places.

The union called for holding the occupying authorities accountable for their crimes and violations, and for working to stop the aggression and prevent the displacement of the people of Hebron from their homes.
