Baghdad hosts the fourth water conference with international participation

Baghdad (UNI/INA) - The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, is witnessing the holding of the Fourth International Water Conference under the slogan “Towards a Better Water Future: Together We Can,” under the patronage of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and under the supervision of Minister of Water Resources Aoun Dhiab, for the period from April 27-29, In the Gilgamesh Hall in the Babylon Hotel in the center of the capital.

The slogan of the conference in its fourth edition, “For a better water future... together we can,” is a clear symbol of cooperation on the future of water, and it depicts life as the title of the right part of the slogan, whose sustainability is fueled by the drop of water in the middle, and the left part represents cooperation to ensure a water future for all.

This conference is also a gateway to communication with the regional and international environment to build bridges of cooperation in the management of water resources, in accordance with the principles of international law, in order to achieve the common aspirations of peoples for waterways, present and future.

It is worth noting that the continuation of holding these international conferences, the most important resource in life, is in order to keep the bonds of communication strong, through cooperation in preparing plans and joint coordination for their implementation, and that this communication is derived from the desire to achieve security, stability, and development, and to confront challenges through technology and management. Participatory.

According to what the Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources stated, the conference aims to “manage water as one of the most important foundations for strengthening international relations and the role it plays in developing relations between peoples and societies.”


Water management also aims to achieve stability at the local, regional and international levels, as well as being the gateway to the future for development and innovation in an effort to maximize its availability to achieve development and prosperity.

The choice of Baghdad to hold the conference came as a result of the visual identity of its symbolism influenced by the sculptural works of the Mesopotamian civilizations, through which it demonstrated the value of water in creating civilization, depicting the waves of water flow in a striking way, and expressing its flow in the river as a symbol of fertility and life.


The most prominent topics of the conference will be participation in the management of water resources, the role of diplomacy, in addition to the sustainable development of water resources to achieve prosperity and preserve the ecosystem, as well as the challenges of climate change, adaptation solutions towards a secure water future, and innovation in maximizing water resources.
