Riyadh (UNI/SPA) - Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Golden Jubilee celebration will be held on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group for the year 2024 AD in the capital, Riyadh, during the period from 18 to 21 Shawwal 1445 AH, corresponding to April 27-30. Under the slogan “Taking pride in our past and shaping our future: authenticity, solidarity and prosperity.”
On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region, will attend the bank’s golden jubilee celebration on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its establishment, which included continuous work with the aim of achieving sustainable social and economic development in its member countries and Muslim communities in Non-member countries.
The Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, stressed that the group’s annual meetings represent an important platform to discuss ways to enhance cooperation among Islamic member countries, achieve sustainable and comprehensive development in them, and transform their economies into sustainable and diversified economies capable of withstanding and facing crises.
He explained that the Kingdom occupies a distinguished position on the global stage as one of the leading countries in hosting and sponsoring many important international meetings and conferences, indicating that the Kingdom continues to support development programs and projects through the Islamic Development Bank Group, which reflects its firm commitment to achieving progress and prosperity to build a bright future. And sustainable for the region and the world as a whole.
For his part, Dr. Muhammad Al-Jasser, Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group, stressed that the relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Development Bank Group represents a model of strategic partnership, noting that this pioneering partnership enabled the bank to benefit from the Kingdom’s expertise and resources as a role model to help advance comprehensive growth in the country. Dr. Al-Jasser said: “The annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group and the celebration of the golden jubilee come at a distinguished time to work together to achieve the goals of sustainable development.”
The annual meetings will witness the holding of a plenary session of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group, and a round table meeting of governors to discuss the most prominent economic challenges facing Islamic countries and future opportunities.
The meetings will include a series of seminars, sessions and accompanying events in the presence of experts from governments, international and regional organizations, the private sector, academia and civil society.
