Djibouti (INA) – The Djiboutian Ministry of Health announced on Saturday evening that it has taken preventive measures against Ebola disease, which is currently ravaging West African countries, in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization. In a statement, the ministry indicated that monitoring devices for this epidemic have been set up at ports, airports and border crossings, with the aim of examining travelers coming from countries where the disease appeared, to ensure that they are free of infection with the Ebola virus. The statement confirmed that no case of this dangerous virus had been detected in Djibouti and in neighboring countries as well, such as Ethiopia and Somalia. According to the World Health Organization, people with severe disease require intensive supportive care, and that there is no specific treatment or vaccine licensed and available for use in humans or animals. It is noteworthy that infection with this disease begins with bouts of fever and severe diarrhea and ends with the death of the infected person. According to doctors, this virus is transmitted by direct contact with blood, vital fluids, or tissues of infected people or animals. (End) Muhammad Abdullah
