Cairo (UNA/WAFA) - The Arab Parliament welcomed the results of the investigation of the Independent United Nations Commission into the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East “UNRWA”, which confirmed that the Israeli occupation did not provide evidence to support its allegations about the agency, and proved beyond any doubt. There is no doubt that these are false allegations.
The Arab Parliament stressed - in a press statement today - the important and major role of UNRWA in providing humanitarian relief to Palestinian refugees, especially in the Gaza Strip, which is subject to an unprecedented war of extermination and starvation from the Israeli occupation.
The Arab Parliament called on the countries that froze their funding and contributions to UNRWA to resume their funding, appreciating the decisions of a large number of countries that restored funding to the agency, stressing that it is a step in the right direction towards fully restoring funding to this international organization that provides aid and relief to about 6.4 million refugees, including two million in The Gaza Strip is subjected to aggression and a war of extermination by the “usurping” occupation.
