The Palestinian Foreign Minister stresses the necessity of holding a donor conference to support the Palestinian government

Ramallah (UNA/WAFA) - Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Muhammad Mustafa stressed the necessity of arranging a donor conference to support the plans and programs of the new Palestinian government, and coordinating to hold a meeting with European Union foreign ministers soon, to inform European ministers of the latest developments in Palestine. The work programs of the Palestinian government, and its priorities in promoting relief and implementing institutional reform plans.

During a phone call with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Wednesday, the Palestinian Prime Minister appreciated Spain’s efforts with other countries to recognize the State of Palestine and support full membership in the United Nations.

Mustafa thanked Spain for its steadfast support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees (UNRWA) and for providing emergency assistance to the Gaza Strip.

He stressed the need to work with all international parties to stop the occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people, and determine a road map to address all political issues, end the Israeli occupation, and realize the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Palestinian Prime Minister warned of Israeli plans and threats to invade Rafah by land, and the already worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

For his part, Sanchez congratulated Mustafa on the formation of the new Palestinian government and the start of its duties, stressing his country’s support, and the continuation of joint coordination and efforts made with many countries to recognize the State of Palestine and obtain full membership in the United Nations, in addition to providing humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinian people.
