Palestine and Pakistan sign first memorandum of understanding in the field of health and medicine.

Islamabad (UNA/WAFA) – The State of Palestine and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan signed, on Wednesday, the first memorandum of understanding in the field of health and medicine.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Palestinian side by Ambassador Zuhair Hamdullah Zaid, with the authorization of the Palestinian government, while it was signed on behalf of the Pakistani side by the Minister of Health, Syed Mustafa Kamal. The signing ceremony, which took place in the capital, Islamabad, was attended by Counselor Tawfiq Khader from the Palestinian Embassy, ​​while on the Pakistani side, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, the President of the Pakistani Medical Association, and a representative of the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended..

During the signing ceremony, the Pakistani Health Minister affirmed Pakistan's absolute support for the State of Palestine, noting that a joint meeting between the embassy and the Pakistani Ministry of Health would be scheduled to discuss ways to activate the agreement and bring it into effect.

For his part, the Palestinian Ambassador thanked the Pakistani Minister of Health for his extensive cooperation and continued support, stressing that this memorandum represents a historic step, as it is the first of its kind between Palestine and Pakistan. He expressed his hope that it would serve as a prelude to the signing of other memoranda of understanding in various fields.

He also asked the Pakistani Minister of Health to facilitate all academic and administrative affairs related to Palestinian medical and dental students studying in Pakistani universities, praising the continuous support provided by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Palestinian people and their just cause at various levels and in all fields..
