The Tunisian President is discussing with the Palestinian Prime Minister the latest developments

Tunis (INA) – Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi met today, Wednesday (5 April 2017), with Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah, in Tunis. They discussed the latest political and economic developments, and ways to consolidate bilateral relations between the two countries. Hamdallah briefed the Tunisian President on the developments in Palestine and the Israeli violations against the Palestinians, especially settlement expansion and the legitimization of land grabs, the demolition of homes and facilities, the undermining of development efforts, and the deprivation of Palestinians from benefiting from their natural resources, especially in Area C. He also briefed him on Continuous violations against prisoners in occupation prisons. Hamdallah put the Tunisian president in the picture of the efforts of the Palestinian leadership at the international level, to mobilize support for ending the occupation according to a specific timetable, and establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the Gaza Strip at its heart. Stressing the importance of Arab support for the directions of the Palestinian leadership in realizing the rights of the Palestinian people, especially their right to freedom and self-determination. The Prime Minister reviewed the efforts made in terms of achieving Palestinian national unity, unifying state institutions, and supporting the steadfastness of citizens in all their places of residence, despite the political and economic challenges.
