Abu Dhabi (UNA/WAM) - The Emirates News Agency, “WAM,” won the Federation of Arab News Agencies “FANA” qualitative award for the “WAM News System,” during the federation’s 50th General Assembly meeting, which was held in Abu Dhabi in conjunction with the World Congress. Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, Director General of the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, expressed his happiness at winning the award, stressing the agency’s keenness to adopt a methodology based on innovation in the various stages of its work cycle, and that the “WAM News” system is considered the first digital system of its kind in the region, which It was programmed and developed by national staff in accordance with the best international media practices, as it adopts the latest artificial intelligence and advanced technology, and helps in managing media work through innovative programming methods that contribute to the automation of the news work system, and achieving added value for partners from institutions, government and private agencies.
Al-Raisi said that “WAM News” is an advanced and comprehensive digital system in the field of receiving, drafting, editing and broadcasting news, in addition to linking it to its photographic and video materials, relying on the best and most modern means of information technology, which contributes to enriching the Emirates News Agency and enhancing its role in serving... The process of renaissance, growth and prosperity in the UAE.
He explained that the system provides the feature of measuring the level of quality in line with approved international standards and standards, as well as intelligent recognition of images and videos, which works to enrich media materials with accurate data, in addition to managing alerts and managing media coverage inside and outside the country and the ability to schedule it and link it to its specialized equipment, and plan Implementing and setting a time frame for it, while monitoring developments that occur in it, as well as editorial management through the ability to create and edit text and visual news with all its five elements - text, image, audio and video, as well as the content of social media platforms.
