The Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the United Nations are organizing an international conference on Jerusalem.

Cairo (UNA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in cooperation with the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, is holding an international conference on Jerusalem, entitled: “Jerusalem: The Front Line of Displacement and Annexation, and the Key to Achieving a Just and Lasting Peace,” on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, with the participation of officials, diplomats, religious figures, experts, and representatives of international and regional organizations, along with a select group of academics and researchers.

The conference aims to highlight Israeli policies of forced displacement and dispossession of the Palestinian people in Jerusalem through the accelerated pace of Judaization, in the context of policies and practices taking place throughout the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly in light of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and the accompanying attacks and large-scale forced displacement of the Palestinian civilian population.

The conference will review the support of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People for international action to relaunch the Middle East peace process on the basis of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, leading to a just, comprehensive and sustainable peace, and ensuring the establishment of an independent State of Palestine on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
